Welcome to the Higgins Piano Studio website! My studio offers year-round private piano instruction and summer composition camps to children from ages 4-18. The studio features 2 Yamaha grand pianos, recording equipment, a seating area for small audiences, and an additional waiting room. For composition camps, the studio includes 5 studio computers with 19" flat-screen monitors, 5 studio Midi keyboards, and 4 additional Yamaha Portable Grand keyboards.

Mission: It is my sincere desire that my teaching, the student's dedication and the parent's support will form an effective team. By working together we can make music one of the most enjoyable experiences the student will ever encounter.

Other Studio Information: COMMUNITY SERVICE: All piano students are encouraged to perform often in the community. Younger students play for residents at assisted living facilities, while older students perform for the Charlotte Symphony ASID Home Tour, area hospitals, assisted living facilities, schools, churches, department stores, and private parties.

COMPUTER THEORY PROGRAMS: The studio offers multiple computer theory programs for students of all levels. Students are encouraged to work before, during, or after their lessons on these programs.

COMPETITIONS: Students may choose to participate in area competitions or play in the Festival or Guild. For performance preparation, piano lessons may overlap 5 minutes so that students can perform for each other.

RECITALS: Annual piano recitals are held in May.

GRADUATING SENIOR RECITALS: Graduating Seniors are given the opportunity to plan and perform their own Graduating Senior Recital.

APPRENTICE STUDENT TEACHERS: Advanced students may choose to become Apprentice Student Teachers.

COMPOSITION CAMPS are held during June, July and August. Contact me for more information.

Term Dates: The Academic Year covers lessons from September 7, 2010 - September 6, 2011, which will include 5 individually scheduled summer lessons. Additional lessons are available upon request. The Studio Calendar includes the following breaks:
